Bluboo S1 VS HTC 10

Bluboo S1 VS HTC 10 A brand new Bluboo S1  is $169.99 and a new HTC 10 369.98 online at best so given the price gap does the S1 actually have any advantages over the HTC 10? In short yes it does in long well you'll have the read this page to find out how and why.

HTC 10 Here As Low As $369.98

bluboo S1 As Low $146.24

Operating System

HTC 10
Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow), upgradable to 7.0 (Nougat)

Bluboo S1
Android 7.0

CPU's

 HTC 10

CPU:    Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 CPU    Quad-core (2x2.15 GHz Kryo & 2x1.6 GHz Kryo) GPU    Adreno 530
ROM: 32GB/64GB
External Memory: Micro SD card 2TB

1TB (terabytes) = 1000GB Gigabytes

Bluboo S1
CPU: Helio P25  Cores: 2.5GHz,Octa Core  GPU: Mali T880
RAM: 4GB /6GB   ROM: 64GB
External Memory: SD Card up to 256GB

CPU Performance
2.5GHZ is a much faster clock speed than 2.15GHZ so surely the S1 speeds ahead in performance right? CPU performance also dependant on the quality of the CPU design, not just the specs and Qualcomm Snapdragons have long reigned supreme at the pinnacle of android phone performance. To put things in perspective Antutu benchmark tests can be used to measure actual performance. Antutu performance of all three androids above the Samsung Galaxy S7 the HTC 10 and LG G5 is actually pretty similar which is pretty much to be expected as they all use the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 CPU.

The Doogee Mix uses the Helio P25 CPU like the Bluboo S1 has an Antutu score of around 85,000 so we expect a similar score from the Bluboo S1. Even with a higher clock speed and four mores cores being an octa core phone the S1 Helio P25 is still outperformed in an Antutu test by the HTC 10's Snapdragon.

Which One Charges faster?

Bluboo S1

3500mAh  Non-detachable lithium-ion polymer battery, 4.4V battery core

HTC 10

Non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery

Fast battery charging: 50% in 30 min (Quick Charge 3.0)

Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU phone has a feature called quick charge that facilitates the charging process resulting in faster for energy efficient battery charging. In 30 minutes the HTC 10 can charge to 50 percent so why is it that the Bluboo S1 can actually charge more quickly. You may be thinking that if the HTC 10 takes 30 minutes to reach 50 percent then it should take 60 minutes to reach 100 percent 50 percent faster than the S1's advertised 90 minutes to the maximum. Phones do not charge at the same pace throughout the charging process the first 80 percent is fastest and then charging time slows down dramatically. Charging the HTC 10 from 0 to 100 percent takes 1 hour and 35 minutes and S1 which has a larger 3500 mah battery reaches the maximum in 1 hour and 30 minutes if charging time is as advertised.

One Vs Two Sims

Although 3G and 4G sims are compatible with the Bluboo S1 and HTC 10 only one of them is a dual Sim, accepting two sims at once. Dual Sim phones use more energy than single sim phones which is a small price to pay for the option of making and receiving calls from two different numbers at once. Some networks offer great deals for one service like 4G and do not do so well on other services like network coverage in certain locations dual sim phone offer the potential best of both worlds. Bluboo have made the S1 a dual Sim phone

Displays

Bluboo S1

Display: 5.5 inch 1920 x 1080 FHD 2.5D Arc screen, Corning Gorilla Glass 4, 90% screen-to-body ratio

estimated 401 ppi

HTC 10

Size    5.2 inches (~71.1% screen-to-body ratio)

Resolution    1440 x 2560 pixels (~565 ppi pixel density)

Multitouch    Yes

Protection    Corning Gorilla Glass 3

Gorilla glass 4 is, of course, a newer form of Gorilla glass which is more impact resistant and less likely to shatter than Gorilla glass 3.

We don't have the exact PPI(Pixels Per  Inch) number for the S1 but we expect given the resolution a 401 PPI screen. Another HTC phone you can use to gauge the S1 screen quality is the HTC One X9 with a confirmed 401 PPI.

Bluetooth

Bluboo S1: 4.0

HTC 10: 4.2

Bluetooth 4.2 is more energy efficient and works in conjunctions with 4G signals unlike version 4.0, interfering with each other's signals draining the battery faster. Also, 4.2 is 250 percent faster than previous version 4.1.

OTG USB On The Go and Type C USB are both fully compatible with the S1 and HTC 10 with one catch in the case of the S1. Standard headphones can not be used with the S1 as 3.5mm port is not incorporated into the design Right?

Bluboo has instead supplied a Type C to 3.5mm headphone adapter with S1 models.
